OUR STORY

My name is Jennifer Atchison, shop owner of 1985 THE VAULT Boutique. I am a mother of 4, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend & a 2X business owner. I have a simple approach to life. Work hard, strive to be a better person than yesterday, learn from every mistake (cause we all make them), have faith in God, and most importantly, pursue every dream imaginable! If you have a bucket list, there is no time like the present. I say...take that trip, start that business, jump out of that airplane, buy that dress & rock it - one of mine of course :)

As of 09/15/2024, I RE-BRANDED my company name to "1985 THE VAULT" and couldn't be happier with my decision. I wanted to choose a name that would mean something to me as well as be a helpful guide for others. About 2 years ago I was going through some trials in my life (marriage difficulties, a young and beautiful adolescent teenager with attitude and the need to explore LIFE, running a successful and growing lawncare business in DFW, and most of all having 2 younger children with autism & speech difficulties). With all the chaos, I needed something to still me. Basically that when times got hard, not to just crawl into a hole & feeling sorry for myself. You see, I'm a tattoo girl (classy and hidden) and I came across a Bible Verse that changed not just my way of thinking, but also my life. Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." I leaped at the opportunity to have this verse etched onto my body, with a group of dear friends by my side, and I wondered afterwards if I had made the right choice. I prayed on it...for days! And then shortly following the placement of this tattoo, I was at home, opening my fridge for a glass of milk or snack for one of my kids, closed the door, and right in front of me was that verse. In a tiny written sheer piece of paper attached to a magnet. I read it, thinking where did this come from? I remembered a card a had gotten from a friend/family member years prior that had this quote within it and I ripped it out and put it on my fridge (for the daily reminder I needed). Coincidence? Wasn't sure at that point. THEN...I kept praying! About a week later I was folding laundry, the average day to day task for a mother and wife like myself, and there was a bee (YES A BEE) flying around my house. Of course I freaked out, trying to smash it with anything I could and it ended up landing on a photo, hung up on a wall in my living room. The photo was framed in wood and rather small. Kind of stuck between all my other photos. And there was that verse AGAIN! Written right in front me. I could not believe it! This verse had been with me all along and for years, right under my nose. I realized at that very moment, that Jesus wanted and needed me to see that verse. That He felt it was the best go to in life for me personally, no matter the situation I was being faced with. My prayers were answered...more than once and all the worries I had about my decision I talked about above, ceased. (I honestly cannot tell you what happened to that bee, because I never actually got the little guy!)

The 1st set of numbers for my company name symbolize that verse (1:9, 19) - 85 stands for the last 2 digits for the year I was born and "THE VAULT" symbolizes the opening of my new adventure into the boutique world. Owning a clothing boutique has been a desire of mine for over a decade. Creating a brand name of significance that offers genuine quality products, building a platform that is engaging and fun, as well as gaining forever relationships with amazing women, is all I've ever wanted. We all need something or someone to bring us clarity, peace, and rationale in a world that seems to wanna rip us apart from the seams on a daily basis. Some people have art or writing, some have traveling, some have fitness training or run marathons, some have sports, like golf or ballet. Whatever it is that gets you through, be glad you have it. Be thankful. I have a great many of things. But there is not one that makes me feel as safe, protected and secure as Jesus. I have Him. And with Him, I can get through anything life throws my way!

My first company, America's Best Lawncare, that I still currently run with my husband Jason, taught me many valuable lessons and gave me solid experience in customer relations, marketing, payroll, inventory, website building, you name it, I've learned it. After much prayer and community outreach with regards to launching 1985 THE VAULT, I am once again, putting my fears to the side and jumping all the way in! And I cannot wait to see where this new journey takes me & my family. I look forward to the people I am going to meet and the happiness I am going to bring to those who purchase from my boutique. I hope to edit this bio in 5 years from now with an amazing success story. Until then...
